Hoy los alumnos hablarán sobre cómo identificar diferentes secciones en un texto en inglés.

Necesitarás tu cuaderno y cartuchera con los útiles necesarios para realizar las actividades.

• “Identifying different sections in a text”

          Using visual and structural cues

• Headings and subheadings: These are bold or larger font titles that directly tell you what a section is about.
• Paragraph breaks: Sections are often divided by visual space between paragraphs or clusters of paragraphs.
• Signal words and transitions: Look for words that indicate a shift in topic, such as "first," "next," "however," or "in conclusion". 

Analyzing the text's purpose and organization

• Narrative (story) structure: Look for an introduction (exposition), rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution.
• Expository (informational) structure: Examine how the author presents information. Common structures include:
• Chronological order: Events are presented in the order they happened.
• Cause-and-effect: The text explains why something happened and what resulted.
• Compare-and-contrast: The author explains how two or more things are alike and different.
• Description: The text provides vivid details about a person, place, or thing.
• Problem-solution: The author identifies a problem and proposes one or more solutions.
• Academic text structure: Look for a logical progression, such as:
• Introduction: Provides background and states the purpose.
• Body: Develops ideas with evidence and analysis, often divided into methods, results, and discussion sections.
• Conclusion: Summarizes the main points.
